The outdoor track and field season was signed off on Sunday with our annual Club Championships, our first at the Riverside Sports Arena. This year we joined forces with our friends at North Ayrshire AC who held their own Club Championships alongside ours. Around 50 Seaforthers battled it out within their respective age groups in a busy multi-events competition. We also had a mini competition for our under 9 athletes and frame runner Kayleigh Haggo joined our Senior Men and Women 100m and 800m races.
Most competitions were very tight at the top. It was great to see our young athletes push hard in each event but also have some fun in-between. Our U11 girls competition was particularly impressive as all 9 girls performed well with very few points separating each of them. It was Emily Good who came out on top in the end after 3 speedy runs over 80, 150 and 600m. It looks like we also have a new U11 club record in the Shot Put as Matilda Jackson threw 5.02m!
The full list of winners and runners up in each age group can be downloaded below. Congratulations to you all. Those named will receive recognition at our annual awards night in November.
Thank you to all of the club volunteers, officials, parents and carers who helped on the day. Thank you to Alastair McIntyre for taking some fantastic photos from the event which can be viewed below.
